Easy pairing, decent sound

Brian 6/25/2020

i've had them for 4 months and my right bud is very low as if volume control has stopped working. i still use my left though great for noise canceling. the only thing i dislike is the case design, the case opens to easy in my case cover when walking and the case hits my leg the case will pop open and buds will fall out. other than those two issues i enjoy them. i'm going to try the buds+ and maybe use a rubber band to help keep closed until samsung figures out a way to help with this issue..

Satisfying

AMELY P 6/23/2020

i have been using my buds for about a year and now that i am working from home, i am really enjoying them. the sound quality, the bass level and clarity of the sound are really satisfying. they provide enough noise cancellation . * the only part that is not so great is the microphone, every time i try it i ended up switching to my phone mic because they could not hear me well, but this is not my main use of it so i'm still giving it 5 stars for the sound quality and minimalist design and adequate noise cancellation.

Not for connecting to TVs

NewfCJ 6/22/2020

although many helpful hints have been offered on a wide variety of websites, the fact remains that these ear buds are not intended for connecting to tvs. i bought them thinking i could make them function in this situation and soon learned that the volume output of the tv set to maximum barely registers on the ear buds. a samsung customer support agent confirmed that this is the case. it should be made abundantly clear in the company and retailer advertising to avoid a disappointment and the necessity of a return.

Don't last long, poor quality

ERIC VIERA 6/18/2020

for the money of the samsung buds+, the quality is poor. the sound was decent when they worked, but after the last update, my right earbud stopped connecting. i called for support and am told that the only way to repair is to send the earbud in for repair. if your earbuds are currently working, do not perform the latest software update.

Good at first

Chris 6/17/2020

the product worked well at first. after just a few weeks of use, the right earbud disconnected and will not reconnect. since i use an iphone, i cannot utilize the app to reset the device. i contacted support and the only way to get this fixed is to ship them in and then wait 5 days for the repair and return. i purchased these to use during the pandemic for business meetings. i should have gone with a different brand. i'm now only able to use the left bud...

Samsung products dont last 3 months

Jimmy 6/15/2020

i got these in december of 2019. they worked fine but then randomly in march 2020 one of the earbuds stopped working so i ordered a replacement thru the warranty and got a free replacement. the replacement i got had trash quality in one ear but i just got used to it. then today one of the buds just stopped working like the previous pair. i guess i can get a free replacement. i wish samsung would just upgrade me to the buds+ because ive never had any samsung product last longer than 3 months period.

there really needs to be an update where the buds can be found while they aren't connected. if they're lost in the case, i should still be able to use the find my earbuds feature.

Not sure anymore

Jayne 6/1/2020

I bought Galaxy earbuds last year. Enjoyed using them. As of lately it's been problem after problem. The second last update fixed the sound quality problems. But now all of a sudden I can only get 3 hours of use of earbuds before having to put them back in the case to charge them again. I used to get 6-7 hours of use. I always charge the case when the charge completely runs out. So its not a matter of overcharging. $200+ is a lot to spend on earbuds that are starting to have a lot of problems. My friends with Airpods don't have these problems. I'm really hoping that the problems are related to updates, and not signs that the earbuds are already reaching the end of their life within a few months. I hope I don't regret this purchase. If this is an update related thing. Please fix ASAP

Great audio with some bugs

Stettler 5/31/2020

I've head these for a while and I enjoy the quality of the earbuds, the audio, and the fitment. I've had 2 specific connection issues that are odd and in my opinion are something that shouldn't really be a problem at the price point. If I have one earbud in and the phone in my pocket, I have terrible connection and whatever I am listening to is so broken up it's not worth listening to. If however I switch to the other earbud it works fine. When I have both in I can literally walk across the room and also works through walls up to a certain point. Another problem I have been having is when I pause a video (probably on YouTube) and go to another app temporarily to txt someone back for example, when I go back to the video and play it there is no audio for at least a few seconds. This doesn't happen often but it's annoying when it does. Honestly if I didn't have these issues it would be a 5 star. Please fix this! That being said I don't regret buying these because I expect these to last longer than any pair I've had before.

Issue with all Samsung buds products

Cyclopentadienyl 5/25/2020

So, over the past 3 years of using samsung buds products. Gear Icon x, samsung buds, and samsung buds plus. I've encountered the same issue with their use over time. This issue is that after a period of 2 to 3 months the main speaker doesn't work in either side of the buds an then the other goes out a few weeks later after use. This issue makes the volume sound muffled, extremely quiet, and dampened and honestly painful to listen too. Even at max volume it's like hearing whispers.

Unusable unless full access is granted

Headnsouth 5/21/2020

I like my ear buds just do not like the fact that they cannot be used without granting permissions to all of my data. SMS, location, contacts and photos all have to be allowed in order to use them. Otherwise Samsung does not grant access. Samsung quality has really gone down hill in recent years. The speech to text just like their phones is atrocious. The ear buttons are way to sensitive or just overly sensitive.

Meh

DISAPPOINTEDRUNNER 5/18/2020

I want wired headphones, but my audio jack was phased out on my phone. These Bluetooth disasters have overly sensitive touch controls. If you try to run with them in your ears, one droplet of sweat will have them shooting out of your ears, regardless of trying the three different sizes of earpieces. When you go to adjust the earbuds to make sure they stay in your ears, they will pause, skip, replay, etc, whatever it feels like making up when you touch them. If you wear head cover over your ears when you are out in the sun, the gentle brush of the cloth on my hat will mess with the touch controls. I feel as though zero companies have made viable replacements for wired headphones, so far.

Not a good experience

RufusStJames 5/15/2020

Bought my galaxy buds maybe two months back, and in the last three weeks the volume of the right one has dropped to about 25% of the volume of the right. In the same time, the touch controls on the left bud have become flaky, sometimes requiring me to remove the bud from my ear and reinsert it to function, AND the sensor on the left bud that determines if it's in your ear has begun thinking it's out when it's in, causing videos to pause randomly. I've tried numerous times to call for service, but every time I've given up after half an hour on hold. The buds, when working, have been generally good. I think the ambient sound feature does a pretty good job focusing on voices if you tell it to. But with the number of problems I've been having in a short time, combined with the difficulty getting through to someone on the phone (if only there were some medium we could use to communicate without voices), I'm starting to look at Google's new pixel buds as a replacement. I definitely could not recommend these to anyone I know.

Disappointed. Poor quality

TekG80 5/6/2020

Very disappointed in these earbuds. I expect a higher quality from Samsung and these do not deliver. First off, I do like the fit and weight of these earbuds. They are some of the most comfortable that Ive ever owned. BUT they stopped working after about 5 months.... Also, the sound quality was never up to par in comparison to my Jaybird earbuds or even my Jlab Audio earbuds. Even when using the equalizer in the Galaxy Wearable app, there was very poor bass and low sound quality for music, video, and calls. In regards to the earbuds not working, they would start glitching in and out and losing connection to everything from laptops, tablets, and phone. Then one day, the left earbud just stopped working. No sound and will not connect to any devices. The right one still connects and works but the left one is a completely unusable. The galaxy wearable app will show the right one connected, functional, and with 100% battery but the left one shows as disconnected, no battery status, and a red exclamation mark. Ive gone through MANY troubleshooting steps and nothing works. Which leaves me to the last step of trying to push through a software update BUT both earbuds have to be connected to your device to do any sort of updates. Since the left one wont connect I cant try to see if a software update will help. What a waste of money. Im very disappointed in these and will stick to Jaybird and Jlab Audio for a new set of true wireless earbuds.

George 5/4/2020

Yeli 5/4/2020

I bought 3 Samsung Galaxy buds because for some reason the left one won't work. They are very good earbuds but they would not work in a couple of months. For some reason its always the left that won't work. The case says its charging but it won't charge the left earbud is completely dead and wont make a sound or anything. I tried everything to fix it like resetting and cleaning it .I'm tired of this and won't be buying another one this is the third time. I'm just getting air pods at this point.

I payed 150€ for an expencive product, which you would think that it shouldnt have any issues due to the cost, but no 2 months in to using it i constantly keep running in to all kinds of annoying issues and right now my right bud all of a sudden became realy silent, compared to the left one. So in my opnion I would strongly recomend not to waste you money on samsungs buds.

Shocking considering I am trying to connect to a Samsung phone. Not worth the price to work less than 5 months.

Worst Earbuds EVER - use airpods w/ droid

THERAM 4/26/2020

I don't write reviews but I'm so annoyed with these things I had to warn others. I have a Note 9 and use AirPods with it and will continue to do so. They have their own issues but they are hands down the best sounding ear buds you can get (even though I hate Apple products generally). I'm a huge samsung fan but their ear buds are just horrible in comparison. FIT: You need to swap out the rubber to get the right fit and they need to basically seal your ear canal for you to hear anything well out of the buds. This also prevents you from hearing anything from the environment well, which may be OK if you want a quasi noise cancelling experience but not great if you're listening to something while wanting to be able to hear around you. The worst part of this is that, without a good seal in your ear, you can't even use these things because you can't hear anything. They stay in your ear OK at best, sometimes will fall out and because you only have 3 choices for rubber ear piece you're lucky if any one of them fits perfectly. Again - airpods don't need use this nonsense with rubber pieces and stuff. They just fit (and even the 3rd party rubber holders for airpods are better than OEM samsung). SOUND QUALITY: side by side with airpods, these thigns are garbage. You don't have the multiple audio holes that the airpods have and so it's one-dimensional sound with terrible base (i.e. no base). CONNECTIVITY: I don't use these with my phone because they're so bad but wanted to use them with my PC for quick access to headphones. They barely do the job even there - they disconnect one at a time frequently, sometimes only one will actually play audio when I connect them (may be a PC issue since it gets fixed with a restart, but my AKG headphones (also from samsung) don't do this. tl;dr - don't buy these things, buy airpods instead and just use them with your android phone paired with a piece of software to do in ear detection.

SMS127 4/24/2020

I had these bud for about a month and I am very disappointed. I love Samsung products and I wanted Samsung buds for my phone and it is horrible when it comes to call quality nobody can ever hear me they complain about it's static and chopping up all the time. I can always hear them clear but the cannot hear me. I don't even use it for talk no more. I use it just to play music. When someone calls I just take it off the Bluetooth and talk. What a waste. Thats sole purpose of me buying them. I still have to use my wired head phones smh

ZACO 4/21/2020

I have only had them for 3.5 months and rarely take calls. When I did it was quite embarrassing as I gad boasted about how comfortable and decent the sound quality was. Little did I know how horrible I sound3 on my first few calls. I'll update this post when Samsung support gets back to me on a resolution. I'm hoping it's a manufacturer defect instead of a common problem.

JayH 4/21/2020

My wife and I are all things Samsung. From phones to tv's etc... My wife bought me these buds for Christmas 2019 and they were working fine. I worked out in them and occasionally use them on my webex calls. It is now April 2020, 4 months of use, and i am having people complain about not hearing me, one bud is nothing but static, I occasionally connectivity on my phone (Galaxy Note 10) and webex calls. I though about getting the Bud+ but i can't get anyone to point me in the right direction to get these buds fixed. This could be that i got a defected pair. Right now i can't recommend that anyone spend their hard earned money on these.

I CAN NOW TELL YOU IT CAN GO THROUGH THE WASH!!!

HamishC 4/19/2020

I got the buds in August and I use them all the time but they tend to fall out of my ears its not really there fault, i'm not sure but they don't fit snug in my right ear but they fit great in my left ear. its probably cause i'm fat and my ears are just that way. but besides that if you are going to get some try them out if they don't work for you that's OK, I think you can return them but that's not why in writing this. it's because I accidentally put them through the washing machine i didn't cry cause i'm a man, and they still work.

attakaii 4/18/2020

Got this for Christmas and they were amazing, sadly I'm unlucky enough to have them suddenly be broken, as the right bud just doesn't want to to connect to anything. so I can't fix it with any "solution" including updates/resets. Customer sevice told me to go to a support centre, said I haven't got warranty if it's from eBay despite being obviously real. Won't even let me pay them to fix them. Why?? Been trying ever since but I've lost all hope today.

Me and my boyfriend have had our ear buds for about 5 months and they are the WORST Samsung investment so far! They pick up all your surrounding background. The ear buds go in and out during phone calls. You have to literally yell and repeat your conversation to whom ever your talking to. Samsung PLEASE address these ISSUES!!

Limiting Design. App nonsense.

Apathetik 3/16/2020

I just got a pair of these a few days ago to replace a pair of Jaybird X2's that I had for quite a long time. I mostly knew what to expect from the research I did before purchasing. But a few things sneaked past my research. I'll start with the worst offender. The Galaxy Wearable's App. I have an older Samsung Galaxy S5. And while Samsung, and Carrier support for this device has long since past. The specs of the phone, and especially convenience features like being able to easily replace the battery, have kept me from wanting to upgrade to a new model phone. And thanks to a certain custom android OS for the device (which I'm not sure I can mention here?), I've been able to maintain feature upgrades, android version upgrades, and often much faster security updates than both Samsung and my local carriers. So it was much to my surprise when I got the Buds, and went to install the Galaxy Wearable's app on my phone. That I find it would not run because it detected that I was running a modified version of Android. But it turns out, it only performs this check on Samsung Devices. They are effectively punishing only their own customers in this way, which almost made me immediately return these earbuds. I did get it working, by making my phone appear to the app as a Google Pixel. Regardless of this fact though. I find it rather absurd that they only run this check and prevent app usage on their own devices. If there's some security concern about running their app on a custom OS. It should perform that check and not run, regardless of what phone it thinks you're using. But that is not the case. Now that I have the app actually working. I am disappointed with how little functionality I get for all the effort that I put into actually getting it working. The options for customizing the controls are incredibly limited. The fact that I can't have volume and Ambient Sound assigned to the controls at the same time is an absurd limitation (for example, Quick Ambient Sound on left bud, and Volume Down on right bud). I also feel like there are more gestures they could be using and aren't. Such as swipes, 1/2/3 taps THEN hold, instead of just a single tap and hold being the only customizable gesture. They should also include a gesture for locking the touch pads (which currently can only be done via a toggle in the Wearable's app). On to the buds themselves. So far, I mostly like them. The music audio quality is certainly acceptable. But is definitely what you would expect from something their size. I don't talk much on my phone, so I can't speak in regard to call quality. However, the Ambient Sound pass through audio quality is... ok when it picks out the right sounds, but seems to like to pick up humming or hissing noises from the surrounding and pass those through just as much as someone trying to talk to you. Which causes problems hearing occasionally. As far as their physical design, I was hesitant to move to a "True Wireless" design coming from my previous Jaybird X2's that were tethered via a wire between the buds, with in-line controls there. Which allowed me to wear them with the wire hooked over my ear for a more secure fit. So far, they seem to stay in quite well. But there are some design issues that are causing me problems. The wingtips have small slots cut into them on the bottom that act a a key way to ensure you put them on in the correct direction and orientation. Unfortunately, the bud in my right ear fits better when rotated differently than the wingtip is oriented for. But due to the keyed nature, it's really hard to get the wingtip rotated correctly for my right ear.

Horrible Product

Tucker 3/15/2020

On my 3rd pair - The left bud stops working after 1-2 months for no reason. There is no fix. They will replace them but it just keeps happening...waste of money.

Stay in my ear. Functionallity is dissapointing.

Ragingun 3/13/2020

Have been using these daily for a month. I love how light weight they are, the charging case, and they do have good sound. The negatives far outweigh the positives. I am currently listening to them and my spotify is playing however the sound has cut out yet again as my music continues to play. This issue is constatnly happening. For high end and specifically Samsung earbuds you'd think they'd offer much more functionality. You have to wear both to use the ambient sound feature, you have to wear both to control the volumes. You can only use the touch feature for one function at a time such as volume, voice command, or to turn on ambient sounds which still doesn't work with just one earbud in. So you can't use voice command without switching the option on your phone first and then using it, well heck I may as well just use my phone then. Even when the touch feature you have programmed is turned to what you want it to be if you don't connect it to your phone the feature doesn't work. In other words I have them connected to my Galaxy 3 frontier watch and none of the touch features work regardless of what you have them set to on the phone app and it's not adjustable via the watch either. Wake up, you make all 3 of these devices. You're epically failing your customers in a world that requires connectivity!!! There are other earbuds out there that have all of these features constantly active.

Hard to keep in ears when sweating

Mark 3/4/2020

These are great for casual wear. But they slip loose of your ears constantly when running and sweating. They also trap all the moisture/sweat inside your ears while using them. It would be nice if there was a better grip while sweating and running and some type of air allowed into the ear canals.

Commute use only. Used lightly. Broke twice!

Robert 3/3/2020

These are by far my favorite wireless earbuds for the size, fit, and ease of use. Would be good if the worked though, right? First set broke. Samsung sent another set. Second set, only one broke. Now I think I am stuck because it has been about a year since the original purchase.

Sound quality is perfect

Muzzsader 2/20/2020

I've had my buds for about 3 months now. The sound quality when playing music is excellent! The fit is perfect too (I had to use the larger earbuds which were provided in the box). The only issue I have, is the sound is terrible when making/taking calls. The person on the other line can never hear me & it always breaks up. This happens to me as well whenever my husband calls me (he has the same earbuds). It is always a muffled sound & isn't very clear. When taking calls I prefer to use the headphones that my S10+ came with.

Luv my buds

Carlossamtana 2/18/2020

I bought my Samsung wireless earbuds to exercise with. I absolutely love them. They fit perfectly in my ears and don't fall out. They are true wireless so nothing to catch a button on. The case actually charges the buds, plus I can put the case on my phone for wireless charging. Just awesome!

Worst calls ever

Hatethebuds 2/11/2020

If you plan on making phone calls on these buds forget it! They have the worst sound, everyone thinks you're underwater or can't understand you at all. Samsung sent me a second pair and they were just as bad. Now I've been waiting over a month for my money to be returned. Each representative I speak to gives me a different story. Good thing Airpods work great on Galaxy phones.
